Graphics and text leap off the page thanks to the proprietary Colour Automatic Image Refinement Technology. Added to this is the new and revolutionary "oil-less" toner technology. The new spherical toner particle contains a microscopic bead of wax which evenly disperses colour at the moment the toner is fused to the paper. Toner fusing is oil-less resulting in a smooth, bright and matt output.       Fast print speed With a fast 4 ppm glorious colour and a nippy 16 ppm of crisp, monochrome output speed, the CLBP-400 boosts productivity and efficiency all round. At the heart of CLBP-400 is Canon's Intermediate Transfer Belt (ITB), a revolutionary laser engine technology that speeds up the printing process and makes the paper path straight and extremely reliable. Its 40Mhz Intel processor and 12MB RAM (upgradable to 44MB) gives it the capacity to take care of all print jobs quickly and efficiently.       Smart features The CLBP-400 has been designed from ground up to take advantage of Canon's hardware and software imaging know-how. Using a new print processing technology called "Dynamic Load Balancing Technology", it combines the processing power of the host PC with the printer's own processing capability to produce consistently brilliant output. Its in-built intelligence automatically senses incoming data stream and applies the appropriate processing power. It also adjusts accordingly when it senses that the incoming data contains only one colour thus reducing printing time by skipping the full four-colour processing cycle. Other printing friendly features such as the option to set and save your optimal print setting to specify paper settings, resolution, finishing and other specific parameters also make it the printer of choice.       Picture perfect every time For perfect results first time, every time, CLBP-400 utilises "CanoFine" to allow users to correct digital images for over or underexposure before they are printed. For novice users, an auto mode does it all. Graphics users will find the colour management capabilities very useful. These allow the user to control the colour saturation, hue and brightness of the printed output with a high degree of accuracy. Support for Windows ICM is also available. Efficient document processing The CLBP-400's efficient digital processing functions produce impressive documents as well. Use the "Edit and Preview" functions to combine different documents into one print job with the same look and feel. Or test your print Job with "Proof Print" before taking a full printout. The CLBP-400 can even display customised messages in its display panel so others can know you are printing your "Very Urgent Proposal", or even that all-important "Report for Boss"! Superb paper handling Whether you are printing reports, proposals or photographs, the CLBP-400 allows you to achieve the best impact with a wide variety of print media including plain paper, transparencies, heavy paper and even . For the environment- conscious, the CLBP-400 features the optional Automatic Duplexing Unit that can print on both sides of the paper. The standard universal paper tray and the multi purpose tray hold 3 5 0 sheets of paper altogether. To accommodate high volume printing needs, this can be enhanced to 850 sheets by adding the 500 sheets paper cassette. Cost effective performance The CLBP-400 helps keep running costs down. Its "oil-less" toner technology ensures that there is no need for fuser oil that is needed in many conventional laser printers. Further savings can also be achieved with its long lasting toner cartridges which print up to 9000 pages of black and 6000 pages of cyan, magenta and yellow. Toner consumption can be further reduced by using a special "Economy Mode" that is extremely useful for printing draft copies. With its power saver feature, the printer also saves electricity by automatically reducing power consumption when idle for a specified length of time.       Bring colour to your workgroup While the CLBP-400 is superb as a stand alone unit, it also yields impressive results in a workgroup environment. Simply use the optional Network Interface Card to attach the CLBP-400 to a Local Area Network. The CLBP-400 supports printing through TCP/IP, Appletalk and other protocols. Canon's printer management utility - NetSpot-makes it extremely easy to configure the printer on the local area network, set up print queues and monitor printer status.
