More Natural Images Canon ink cartridges for the S400 use new inks that produce sharper contrast, more vivid colours, more clearly defined blacks, and increase resistance to fading. The black ink in BC-30e (black) and BC-33e (regular colour) cartridges both employ pigment black ink for sharper text reproduction and improved water resistance. Natural, Photo-Grade Quality The four-colour photo cartridge (BC-34e Photo) delivers superior gradation, which means more faithful reproduction of pale, intermediate colours - such as skin tones - and sharper rendering of highly illuminated areas. Colour bleed is also reduced. High-resolution Printing The S400 employs Drop Modulation Technology (DMT) to achieve a print resolution of up to 1440 x 720dpi*. With DMT, each nozzle in the print head can produce two sizes of ink droplets. DMT means high-quality printing at improved speeds using any cartridge : black, regular colour or photo. * Using black BC-30e of regular colour BC-33e cartridge Fast Speed, More Accuracy The S400 churns out monochrome at the rate of 9ppm* and colour at 4ppm** thanks to multi-nozzle printing system - the black cartridge has 160 nozzles while colour and photo cartridges have 48 for each colour. With so many more nozzles and bi-directional printing, the S400 delivers spectacular improvements in printing speed without compromising print quality. * Using the BC-30e black ink cartridge ** Using the BC-33e regular-colour ink cartridge Separate Ink System The S400 uses Canon Think Tanks System which allows you to replace individual inks rather than buying a complete cartridge each time a colour runs out. Moreover, the accurate ink-level detectors in the cartridge warm you when ink levels are low so you need never run out of ink during a printing job. Easily Converts to a High-resolution Scanner Replace the ink cartridge with the optional IS-32 scanner cartridge and the S400 instantly becomes a high-performance, 720 dpi scanner. Dual Interface (USB) The S400 comes with parallel interface for Windows®98,Windows®2000, or USB interface for both Windows and Macintosh *. *USB operation can only be guaranteed on a PC with pre-installled Windows®98, Windows®2000. This product supports the majority of USB equipped PCs; however, due to differences in USB implmentation (on some PC's) full compatibility can not be guaranteed. Whisper-Quiet Printing The S400 was specially designed for whisper-quiet operation. At about 45 decibels, it won't create a disturbance, even during high-speed printing. Photo Printing Made Easy, Naturally Driver software includes Photo Optimizer, which corrects the tonal range of images captured with a digital camera. It also features a Stimulate Illustration function that easily transforms photos to illustrations. Monochrome Effects converts colour photos to sepia hues or other colour tones and can be used with the Illustration function to create very special effects. << BACK |
