Beautiful, brilliant gallery-quality
photos with 8-color ink
PIXMA iP8500 featuring the FINE
high-performance print head
The "engine" of an inkjet printer, the print head, determines image
quality and print speed. The PIXMA iP8500 incorporates Canon's "FINE" (Full-photolithography
Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) print head.
ChromaPLUS
The PIXMA iP8500 employs an 8-color ink system, including the innovative addition
of red and green ink to achieve an extensive color space, improving saturation in
red and green regions. The resulting enhancement in color reproduction offers vividness
and color accuracy comparable to that of positive film. The superior photo quality
of the PIXMA iP8500 can satisfy even the strictest demands for clarity and solidity
of professionals and serious amateur photographers.
Universal 2 pl Ink Droplets and Maximum 4800 dpi
The PIXMA iP8500 incorporates the FINE print head, which prints using minute
2 pl ink droplets in all printing modes for all paper and printing settings, with
resolution of up to 4800 x 2400 dpi. These features allow the printer to produce
prints free of graininess and color irregularities - with any type of image. Smooth
gradations with no abrupt tone changes capture even the subtlest color contrasts.
Increased head drive frequency
for faster photo printing
The FINE print head incorporated in the PIXMA
iP8500 boasts a dense arrangement of 6,144 nozzles that provide a real 1200 dpi.
The head drive frequency is 20% higher than in previous models, achieving a maximum
of 24,000 ink ejections per second for each nozzle. A 4" x 6" borderless
photo is printed in approx. 21 seconds - no small feat when printing with 2 pl ink
droplets. The PIXMA iP8500 provides the ultimate in speed all around, even with photo-quality
prints.
