High-Speed and Photo-Quality Printing
PIXMA iP2000 featuring the FINE
high-performance print head
The "engine" of an inkjet printer, the print head, determines image
quality and print speed. The PIXMA iP2000 incorporates Canon's "FINE" (Full-photolithography
Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) print head. The sub-micron precision nozzles eject consistent,
fixed-volume microscopic ink droplets with remarkable accuracy for smoother, grain-free
images with increased tonality and higher resolution. The print head also offers
more nozzles, higher nozzle density, and higher drive frequency for both fast printing
and high image quality.
Quick printing of 4" x 6" borderless photo in approx. 50 seconds**
The PIXMA iP2000 features the FINE high-density multi-nozzle print head. It also
employs DC motors in the auto sheet feeder, front feeder, and line-feed for high-speed
paper feeding. In addition, the sequence has been optimized to enable the PIXMA iP2000
to print high-quality borderless photos quickly and smoothly. The printer is capable
of
printing monochrome text documents at up to 20 ppm and color documents at up to 14
ppm, adequate to satisfy virtually the entire spectrum of document printing needs.
* Ink droplets can be placed with a pitch of 1/4800 inch at minimum.
** Draft mode with Photo Paper Plus Glossy.
2 pl ink droplets and 4800 dpi*
for high-resolution photo prints a class above
The PIXMA iP2000 features the FINE print head,
allowing the ejection of 2 pl ink droplets in addition to 5 pl droplets. The 5 pl
ink droplets ensure high-speed printing, while the 2 pl droplets enable high-quality
printing virtually free of graininess and color unevenness. Moreover, The PIXMA iP2000
incorporates sophisticated dot control technology while achieving 4800* x 1200 dpi
for high precision image reproduction without blurs. Advanced "Canon Digital
Photo Color" renders beautiful skin colors and vivid blue skies while providing
improved contrast and tonality. The PIXMA iP2000 is a high-grade standard model for
photo printing comparable with 6-color photo printers.
Adoption of pigment-based black ink The pigment-based black ink provides sharp,
black text printing. It is especially suitable for printing e-mail and Web pages.
Resists smearing even when exposed to moisture.
* Ink droplets can be placed with a pitch of 1/4800 inch at minimum.
2-Way Paper Feeding
The Front Feeder is built into the printer unit.
Combined with the conventional Auto Sheet Feeder, this offers 2-Way Paper Feeding
convenience as a standard feature. The Paper Feed Switch shifts the paper-feed location
from the Auto Sheet Feeder to the Front Feeder and back. Detailed settings for the
paper feed method can be set using the printer driver.
Advantage of 2-Way Paper Feeding
| 1. |
Can be used with plain paper and photo paper simultaneously |
| 2. |
Max. 300-sheet large-volume printing
Auto Sheet Feeder: Plain paper (Max. 150 sheets), Front Feeder: Plain paper (Max.
150 sheets) |
| 3. |
Space-saving configuration
Paper is fed in and ejected at the front, allowing the printer to be used anywhere
- even in confined spaces. |
Camera Direct*
The Camera Direct feature - incorporated into the PIXMA iP2000- supports PictBridge
and Bubble Jet Direct. Photos taken using digital cameras supporting either system
can be printed from the PIXMA iP2000 with no need for a PC.
* Auto Sheet Feeder feeding only
Easy-PhotoPrint 3.0
Significantly improved photo retouching function
enhances portraits with minimum user input.
Face Sharpener
The subject's face is automatically identified and sharpened. The entire face is
made clearer to create a portrait with a strong sense of presence.
Face Brightener
The subject's face is automatically identified and adjusted to the optimum tone,
depending on the level of brightness. The feature brightens faces in shadows to clarify
expressions and to make the tones of the subject's face more vivid for a more vibrant
portrait.
