The secret of the BJC-8500ís superb print quality is its remarkably microscopic
ink droplets. MicroFine Droplet Technology also assures consistent droplets size,
precise positioning, and high velocity. The result: dramatically reduced grain, richer
tonality, greater contrast, and higher resolution. Now your prints can actually look
better than photographs.
1200 x 1200dpi high-resolution/6-color photo printing
The BJC-8500 can print in full color even on plain paper at 1200 x 1200dpi-more
than 1.4 million dots per square inch. In addition, a six-color bi-level ink system
is used to achieve high-quality photo printing with improved contrast and faithful
reproduction of subtle color balance.
P-POP technology for superb water resistance even on plain paper
Meanwhile, Canonís unique P-POP (Plain Optimized Printing) technology automatically
applies an instant-drying ink optimizer to the paper before printing. In effect,
plain paper becomes coated paper, for outstanding water resistance, sharper details,
and more beautiful colors.
High-speed full-color printing with multi-nozzle print head
The newly developed print heads employ a total 1,536 nozzles: 512 for black,
and 256 for each color. This allows a single pass of the print heads to print two
to three lines of text. And that translates into serious speed, with up to 4 pages
per minute of full-quality color output.
Professional media versatility and all paper formats up to A3.
The BJC-8500 handles all paper sizes up to A3+ or Tabloid+, making it ideal for
comps, CAD, large-format DTP, and other professional jobs. For the ultimate in image
quality, Canon Photo Media (Photo Glossy Paper GP-301 and Photo Glossy Film HG-201)
and High-Resolution Paper HR-101 are available in a full range of sizes.

Accurate, easy-to-read ink level detector system
Accurate ink-level detectors in the cartridge provide "Ink Low and "Ink
Out" warning messages as ink levels drop. This warning system helps prevent
wastage caused by ink running out during printing.
PostScript 3 capability for professional applications
Adobe Systems Incorporated PostScript is the choice of todayís graphics professionals-and
the BJC-8500 provides advanced workflow with PostScript 3. That means itís ready
